why not ring in the new year with a look at this christmas in adam and i's loft. the loft was "dressed-up" a tiny bit more for a photo shoot so i thought it would be fun to take some pictures of my own to share! the pictures for the photo shoot won't hit newsstands until next holiday season (october to be exact) so here's a preview of my christmas decorations.
i'm truly super spoiled working at the best holiday decor shop i know (ahem... les fleurs), so many ideas and inspiration have come together over the years in my holiday collection. each year a little something new is added, this year we have a "whole addition" :o) our little miss sarah grace needed holiday cheer all her own, it was fun decorating her nursery, enjoy below.
happy new year everyone, looking forward to what 2015 will bring!
our loft is a 1 bedroom, open concept. our kitchen, dining and living room is all one large space, it's so festive that everywhere in the house you look is christmas! we "built" in sarah's nursery to this open floor plan... one day i will do a post of her sweet nursery, it was a rather creative way we rigged up her adorable digs.
down our 10' dining table i filled 2 of my stone urns with birch logs, pine cones, garland and holiday greens to add some volume. we have very high ceilings (14') so the more grand the better in our loft. for the photo shoot i made carolina sapphire wreaths at les fleurs for each guests place setting and marked their seat with tin reindeer ornaments that i wrote everyone's name on in a white chalk pen. the girls at les fleurs made 3 beautiful flower arrangements to finish the table.
when you first enter our loft our bedroom is off to the left, down a hall on my handmade console table is a great collection of garden urns with faux trees.
if you ask anyone that knows me, decorating for christmas is my favorite!! i will add a touch of christmas cheer to anything! this year i thought our 4-poster bed totally needed some cheer. this is laurel garland hang around the whole frame tied up with a simple layering of antique white satin. laurel garland is great for indoor use, it keeps it's color as it drys, it doesn't shed or drop needles and it has no fragrance.
now for my favorite room i decorated, sarah's nursery. subtle, but oh so sweet. of course there is an urn... with her adorable 4' tree, i used all heart and baby animal ornaments with simple silver matte balls. i got antique gold feather picks from les fleurs (circa 2013 holiday) and silver tinsel picks and added them into her tree. on the top of sarah's tree sits the most adorable antique paper angel with white feather wings.
that ladder, i know you wondering about... because everyone does! it was my father-in-law's fathers. he picked it up many moons ago on a job in worcester, the moment my eyes found it i had to have it. it typically has linens draped over it's lower steps, but the holiday season is my favorite! a big wreath with a satin bow and 3 holiday stockings.
and that's it for my holiday decor! we'll be sure to let you know when the magazine hits newsstands. until then, happy new year everyone!!
