"little girls are heavens flowers"
now if that quote isn't the most perfect line to describe the most recent little bundle of joy to join our les fleurs family then i don't know what is. my sister had a baby girl in november and i couldn't be more excited to share OVER-DUE shower fun!!
(a very special thank you to our families life long neighbor and friend, lu for taking many of these amazing pictures of danielle's shower so i can share them with everyone! lu and her husband lee are talented photographer's, check out lee's website!!)

when i started thinking about "theme's"... let's all agree how much we dis-like the idea of our events have a "theme". notice it's in "quote" each time ;o) i was more inspired by the fresh garden veggies and fruits and the amazing flowers available than blocks and rattles for baby bean's party.
with help from my cousin heather (my favorite flower engineer... as featured in posts from all my trips to maine) we hand made sewn invitations finished with peach & white bakers twine (purchased from gus & ruby letterpress) packaged in velum envelopes. the invitation's were ivory burlap with linen paper sew in with a fabulous gray thread. i had a blast making them!
for the afternoon 50+ ladies enjoyed a day filled with laughter and love under the tent in my backyard. pale peach linen's from peterson's party center were the perfect color to set the tone for the flowers.
we dined on farm fresh veggies in a lovely crudites with yummy dips!! silver mercury compotes lined with kraft paper held all the fresh veggies. danielle was craving fruit during her pregnancy so we were sure to serve fruit with fabulous vanilla-peach and chocolate dips on the side.
homemade greek goddess, black bean and ceaser dip's accompanied the vegetables perfectly
a summer salad with homemade champagne vinaigrette dressed arugula and greens, local maine blueberries, candied walnuts, bleu cheese and caramelized onions
the afternoon was filled with so much love! opening gifts was a blast, all the little clothes with there bows and little girl details were so perfect! danielle and blair were so appreciative of all the love and support from their friends and family.
peach and pale pink cupcakes made by a good family friend of maureen's matched the shower's decor to a tee!
all the ladies departed with fruit favors... little wooden punnets i found online were lined and filled with farm fresh fruit with flag hang tags that read "how sweet it is" i found at smitten on paper. at smitten on paper you can customize the colors for the detail and text to match your day, they have the BEST little extra's for any event on their website, be sure to check it out!!

this was libby's first trip to the shop... **a word from "management": it's important to familiarize her with the flower shop "going-on's" as i'll put her to work as soon as her mom says she can use scissors... i'm kidding**
