our flower of the week is so fabulous ... snowberries!!

locally grown, this shrub belongs to the honeysuckle family.

it blooms in the spring as clusters of white flowers and then turns into a cluster of pink & white berries when the late summer / fall season arrives.

they can grow up to 5 feet tall, and love both the sun & the shade. snowberries are poisonous to humans, but attract & feed many wild animals!!

next on the blog will be our product of the month for october!!

bring on the fall!!

first day of fall... september 22

that's only 17 days away!!

so i figured i'd at least spare those of you who are summer lovers my excitement of the coming fall until after labor day! but now... (in my book) summer is over, bring on apple cider, falling leaves and pumpkins!! it looks alot like fall is coming around the shop too!! just a week or so ago we changed some things around and are getting new items for fall everyday.

with each changing season comes new flowers and colors! we are loving anything burgundy mixed with copper-y whites and all things orange!

bittersweet wreaths are available and stunning! starting around $65... they are a MUST HAVE for the fall!!

succulents are great in planters or zinc cups for the fall!

romantic shades of purple are a great palette for the fall without being the traditional red, orange & yellow

"amnesia" rose are shown in the bottom right corner... they are AMAZING for a muted, vintage fall arrangement

little white "snow berries" are such a fun accent we are lucky enough to see for a few weeks this season... we use them as much as we can in september!!

the "cobra" or serascinia lily is a fab-u-lous alternative to a calla lily if your looking for a simple liner bloom.

andover will be celebrating "andover day" saturday, september 15... fun savings in the great businesses down town! please come by for all the amazing NEW items for autumn!

early last year i had the pleasure of meeting the most amazing bride and her mom,

for which together we created the florals for this june stunner

our breath taking bride carried a traditional cascade bouquet
roses... beach, skyline, quicksand, david austin garden rose patience,
safari & white majolica
mock orange (a stunning spring foliage) & english ivy

i love the yellow tie!

the gentle men's beige suit's were a nice compliment to the gold tone's
used throughout the day

the foyer in tupper manor has 2 beautiful marble tables that are used for the

escort cards & gift tables.

fresh lemons with green paper leaves (escort lemon leaves by, soiree, andover) sat arranged in the couples pottery barn galvanized tray's with all the

guest's name's and table number's

lemon's were used in many area's of the day... there were a few other idea's our beautiful bride had up her sleeves... crystal vases, silver dessert stands,
roses upon roses and ohh...balloons!!

tupper manor is such a beautiful venue and each couple brings their own personality to the space. i have to admit however... i do think this june 12th wedding was one of my most favorite! below leah haydock shot some stunning photo's of the balloon's in the conservatory. the groupings of champagne, yellow and toffee colored balloon's were added to the 3-tier silver dessert stand centerpiece's

the conservatory was set with 1/2 3-tier dessert stand centerpieces

and 1/2 crystal cake stand pave style centerpieces

(with lemons of course)

white hydrangea, mock orange, lemon leaf, lemons, peonies and roses

following the ceremony for cocktail hour the couple had many yummy treat's including a lemonade bar

stunning gilded foyer inside tupper manor

crystal vases filled with roses were placed on the cocktail tables

"words of wisdom" cards by soiree were set out for
family & friends to offer the new couple advice

a day at the farmer's market... in maine!

our favorite mainer... my beloved cousin heather (fabulous studio florist... anyone in maine needs a florist, let me know!) took me to my first farmer's market!!

it was a rainy saturday morning, we drove down a long country road with fields on either side when we pulled up to this lovely market, very sweet indeed!

the sheep were all out in the pasture eating breakfast... and so were we

(best ever spinach and feta croissant! homemade!!)
