i honestly love my job!  i truly feel blessed to spend every day in the company of people i love... doing a job i also LOVE!  i know im not a doctor and will never find world peace, we just play with flowers. but someone has to, right? why not us.

on a daily basis we create arrangements for clients with little to no specifications.  most clients call with "designer's choice" as their wants.  "designer's choice" allows us to provide the freshest selection of premium blooms in our arrangements.
wedding's are usually a little different...

client's have an idea of colors, flowers and composition.  we customize arrangements for them based off their initial requirements (wonder what this has to do with the AMAZING bouquet photographed above, right?)  kara (bride who's wedding im going to blog about today) came to me in a different way.  we never had the pleasure of meeting.  i met her mom (fabulous!!) in the shop a few weeks before kara and duane's willowdale estate wedding day to discuss and finalize blooms for her daughter's wedding and was soo inspired!
(getting to why i LOVE my job)

such a sweet moment!

their trust in les fleurs and myself as a designer to create organic, vintage style bouquet's was all there.  i was given a color palette and some flower preferences, from there... this wedding blossomed, literally.  to this day, i am most proud and most in-love with kara's bridal bouquet, it's officially my favorite i've ever done.  the willingness to let les fleurs as designer's create arrangements without ever meeting is asking a lot of a client.  flower's are such a visual part of your wedding day, it's very important to do sample appointments and choose blooms available with-in a few weeks of your date to give you the freshest selection.  choosing flowers and creating arrangements, like the ones for kara and
duane are why i love my job!!

a very special thank you to liz with elizabeth wertz photography and kristen (who was an additional photographer for kara and duane's day) with kristen jane photography for these amazing pictures of their special day!  if budget allows, 2 photographers are such a treat!!  it's a truly fabulous way of capturing so much more throughout your wedding day.  there are times when the photographers stay quiet busy with the bride & groom and are unable to capture other guests or moments during the day, insert additional photographer here ;o)  amazing work ladies on these pictures!  please visit their websites by clicking there names above!!

kara's bridesmaid's carried simple babies breath bouquet's wrapped in navy satin.  so simple and perfectly vintage against the girls champagne knee length dresses.

the ceremony was held at willowdale estate, outdoors.  white dogwood branches with mounds of moss in antique cast iron urns stood to the right and left of the couple during the ceremony.

i tend to be a strong believer about the styling behind functions and events should be made of elements that feel natural or organic to it's environment.  we work with local growers and farmers for many of our fresh flowers, greenery and branches through out the season's.  with each year it seems to come with very different weather patterns, therefore bringing too much rain... not enough rain, too much sun and so on and so forth, we as florists need to be forgiving to what the seasons bring.  using local products are such a treat as they become available, ask what's in-season within the weeks surrounding your wedding, if and when try to use some wonderful local blooms or accents!!  the dogwood branches for the ceremony were from tree's right in massachusetts!!

kara's grandmother grew snap dragons in her garden, when we discussed the
ceremony decor adding this very personal touch came from the heart.

locally grown, single white snap dragons with maiden hair fern tied to the
aisle chairs with a simple nectar satin tie

during the tented reception the aisle chairs with the snapdragon clusters were brought in for the bride and groom... how sweet do the chairs look adorned with "mrs & mr"?!

each guest table arrangement was ever so slightly different, some with peonies, some with garden roses... loose and airy arrangements with loads of accents! bunny tail fern, maiden hair fern, dusty miller, moss... the list goes on!  soft and romantic with a hint of vintage flare!  the soft peach tucked amongst the white and green was quiet yummy!! at each guest place setting a glass bottle of dr.pepper with navy and white stripy straws.  all the details came together perfectly for kara and duane's willowdale estate wedding.  les fleurs could not have been happier to be apart of the team!

thank you again liz and kristen for the beautiful photo!  we're soo happy to share!
