autumn cocktail party : tuscan kitchen : harvest gold, sienna, olive & burgundy

this post will start with a long over due, I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY IT'S FALL!!!!!! if you ask me there is no time of the year or season more romantic and beautiful than now, like right now actually... this very end of october through the very beginning of november is amazing! i love the way the trees look and how the air feels. i'm sharing a special birthday cocktail party sandra designed amazing, masculine arrangements for held at the tuscan kitchen in salem, new hampshire. you must check out everything tuscan in salem, the restaurant and the market! they've just opened another restaurant in burlington, ma. the wine cellar in salem is where this lovely party was held.
in the wine cellar long tables were filled with glowing pillar candles in moss bedded glass vases accented by lush arrangements. each table sat a series of candles grouped together and arrangements. (**k's tip: it's important to think about the style of event you are hosting as well as the feel you want to create.) our designer, sandra was creating an evening that was fun, casual (not backyard casual however) with the emphasis on food and family. they wanted guests to feel as if they could be dining in their home... these arrangements were neither stuffy or boring. a lot of seasonal textures like bittersweet berries, oak leaves, pheasant feather and artichokes were so cool for the "man" side of the night, but the simplicity of the fall tones roses and rich warmth from the candles created the intimate vibe they were looking for.
low profile, faux slate vessels were used to design the table arrangements in. keeping the container short allowed for maximum conversation, this is great on dining tables for holidays or gatherings... les fleurs has some great containers for this style.
vance kitira pillar candles in 2 different sizes in burnt sienna looked great to add warmth and color to the table scapes. at our andover flower shop we carry a variety of vance kitira natural bees wax candles, pillars and tapers.
make dinner plans to dine at the tuscan kitchen soon and a thank you to our dear friend jill rocca for these beautiful pictures!!
